iKi SRL One Day and Half Day Workshop Outcomes
The goal of these courses is to provide teachers with systems and strategies to manage the classroom effectively and optimize student learning. Effective classroom management requires use of Evidence Based tools and methods, including positive guidance strategies for promoting appropriate individual behaviour and a range of methods for maintaining a good group-learning environment. Course participants will learn to define mutual interaction as it pertains to children’s behaviour in all contexts, identify aspects of effective praise and encouragement, and reinforce their understanding of the importance of routines for early childhood development.
Behavior management is one of the biggest challenges childcare Educators and Teachers encounter on a day to day basis. This course offers strategies, guidelines and activities to help build a productive and respectful learning environment, while also providing key practices to deal with challenging behaviour.
Workshop participants learn how to implement iKi in their day to day activities and use the extensive Online resources.
iKi Safe Respectful Learners (SRL) workshops provide educators and organisations with the tools they need to meet and exceed the National Quality Standards and Early Years Learning Framework.
Studies show that children need positive, fair and consistent guidelines to flourish. At the heart of iKi SRL is a set of principles that are the foundation of effective behaviour management. Via a catchy song, students learn the iKi Rulz and quickly ‘own’ them. These Rules provide the language and concepts to clearly communicate expectations and consequences in a way that is easy to
implement and assists teachers and parents in teaching ‘context appropriate behaviour'
in the classroom, the playground and at home.
Don't just take our word for it - Read below what workshop participants have to say:
“The day exceeded all my expectations and I think it was the best staff development day that we ever had. The staff were totally engaged and gave very positive feedback at the end of the day”. Anne Holden, Principal Trangie Central School
